Dogs are great pets to own. No one should be denied owning one if it is their wish;
however, some people do have living situations which permit only certain weights
and kinds of dogs.
Someone who lives in an apartment does not have a backyard for a dog to run
around in, so they might need a dog that either is a little more laid back or that
does not require quite as much exercise.
Here are a few dogs that are great for indoor living. Yorkshire Terrier
These little guys make great indoor pets. They can get a lot of exercise within an apartment, but still need exercise preferably in the form of games. Their coat needs brushing at least once a day, and they only need a bath once a month. These dogs are not real big barkers so there is no need about waking the neighbors at three in the morning.
Toy Manchester Terrier
These dogs are very laid back with their owners. They are not that open to strangers or other pets but are not aggressive. It may take a little patience to train them, but they are very loyal. They do love to get outside when allowed but are completely comfortable indoors especially during cold weather.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
This is the sweetest indoor dog most owners could have. They are completely laid back and love everyone including other pets. Their exercise requirement is very low with just a brief walk once a day. This can also be met by playing a few games inside. Their coat needs brushing at least once a day. They are very easy to train and will be a great addition to any family.
This is one of the easiest going breeds of dogs in existence. They do like to get outside like all dogs, but they love to be relaxed so while indoors they are very laid back. They do need daily exercise to keep in shape, but this only takes a few minutes. Most of the time, this can be done by playing a game inside. They are not one of the more intelligent breeds of dogs, but what they lack in intelligence they make up with affection.
These little guys are great indoors. They can be active inside just as well outside. It is probably a good idea to take them on a daily walk, however. They are not great around small children, but older children that understand how to act with dogs will be fine. They tend to be protective of their owner and family.
